Hither, Thither and Yon

!  Tzohar LaTeiva is the name David has chosen for his new, very own personal blog. For his first post click here

I"ll Call Baila has two excellent posts about American aliya. The earlier one is a reaction to an article in the Jerusalem Post calling Nefesh B'Nefesh "an exercise in futility". In a later post she tells us what she would say to potential olim in America. She presents a very balanced look at what it's been like to make aliya with a family that includes teenagers. Aliya is not about statistics, it's about one family, then another and then another. Each family in their own time and with their reasons. Let's not lose sight of the hundreds of families who have come with Nefesh B'Nefesh and those who are still on their way.

Heveil Havalim is hosted over at Ima on (and off) the Bima. She's dedicated the post to congratulating one of the Jewish blogsphere's newly engaged  Chaviva. Mazal Tov!

Risa, it's ironic that you mention aliyah as a "family," when you came as a single teenager.

Risa,

I have read two books recently on making aliyah. This is definitely a dream of mine.

My Reb says it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when'.

Have a great week.

Melissa
